Dr. Jovey, trained and worked originally as a family physician. He has been treating patients with chronic non-cancer pain in an outpatient practice setting for over 30 years. He has presented educational workshops and seminars on chronic pain management to health care professionals in Canada and internationally. Since 2005 he has been the Medical Director at CPM Centres for Pain Management, which in 2021 became NeuPath Centre for Pain and Spine, the largest, outpatient chronic pain management organization in Canada. He was also a staff physician at the Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic at Hamilton Health Sciences Centre in Hamilton from 2017-2021. He was a Clinical Expert Advisory Committee member of the Canadian Opioid Guideline Panel in 2017. He is a Past-President of the Canadian Pain Society, a medico-legal expert for the Canadian Medical Protective Association and a provincial Coroner.
